Artwork by KAREN ROSSI

Karen Rossi Studios was founded in 1980 in a corner of Rossi’s parents’ specialty aerospace welding business in South Windsor, Connecticut.

Rossi’s career choice was influenced by a childhood passion for drawing and painting, her mother’s stories of growing up as sculptor Alexander Calder’s neighbor and her father's love of metal, which influenced her to jump from the pen to the torch. As her parents’ business grew, Rossi experimented with steel, titanium, copper and brass. She continued to be a narrative artist, telling stories through the use of icons whether in metal or on paper.
