Artwork by LORRAINE SHANNON

Lorraine uses photography as a creative outlet. Diving back into the art twelve years ago, it has brought an added joy to her life. Meeting others who also enjoy photography, attending outings with photography clubs, learning from professionals in the industry, and paging through printed and online material have all contributed to her knowledge of the subject. Lorraine finds it rewarding to capture images not often seen. “I'm amazed at what life has to offer if we just take time to look, and feel fortunate to be able to share with others the things I see.”

Lorraine is on the board of the Charlotte Camera Club and is a member of several other photography organizations. She is the recipient of three Awards of Merit from the Photographic Society of America’s (PSA) Interclub Competition. In addition, she has been a BetterPhoto.com finalist on numerous occasions, a few of her photos have been featured as the BetterPhoto.com ‘Photo of the Day’, and one of her images was awarded 2nd place by BetterPhoto.com. Lorraine’s image, "Luminescence", was awarded "2015 Photo of the Year" by Charlotte Camera Club. She teaches and has been a presenter at several camera clubs/photo conferences.

Home is Charlotte, NC. When Lorraine is not out taking photos or working at her part-time job as an Executive Assistant, she can be found spending time with her family, walking the dog, working in the yard, or sipping wine with friends.
